Good news first: new Steam Deck OLED models have been continuously available since late May 2026. The waiting game now revolves around refurbished units, which appear in batches and sell out fast. Valve announces nothing in advance, so catching one takes either luck or a good tracker. Here is what the data shows about restock patterns, and how to get notified the moment stock drops.
Steam Deck Restock History
The original Steam Deck launched in February 2022 with massive wait times. Reservation queues stretched months. By mid-2023, Valve cleared most backlogs and shifted to direct sales. The OLED revision launched in November 2023 and brought a new wave of supply constraints.
For a long time after that, Valve moved through cycles of sell-outs and periodic restocks. Since the price change in late May 2026, new OLED models have mostly stayed in stock, and the action has shifted to refurbished units. We have been tracking every restock since January 2025, and the data shows clear patterns by model.

How Often Does Valve Restock the Steam Deck?
There is no fixed schedule, and the honest answer changed in 2026. New OLED models currently do not need restocks at all: since late May 2026 they have simply stayed in stock. Historically, when new models did sell out, gaps of one to two months between restocks were normal.
Refurbished units are a different story. They have been dropping in batches roughly every three weeks since June 2026. Some drops sell out in under an hour, while others last a day or more. The tables above show the exact dates and gaps for each model.
Steam Deck OLED vs LCD Availability
Valve discontinued the last new LCD models in December 2025, and the remaining stock cleared out in early 2026. If you want a brand new Steam Deck from Valve, the OLED is your only option. Refurbished LCD units still show up in the store occasionally, but without any predictable pattern.
That said, LCD models still appear regularly on eBay and other resale markets, usually priced well below a new OLED. DeckScan tracks these listings and rates each deal so you can quickly find the best value.
Refurbished Steam Deck Restocks
Valve sells refurbished Steam Decks at a significant discount. These units go through full testing and carry the same warranty as new devices. Refurbished models are some of the fastest to sell out when they appear.
Since June 2026, refurbished OLED drops have settled into a surprisingly steady rhythm of roughly three weeks between batches. Valve does not share inventory numbers, and the pattern depends on return volume, so it can break at any time. If you want one, setting up alerts is still the best approach.
Next Refurbished Drop Estimate
OLED 512GB Refurbished: likely between October 12, 2026 and November 17, 2026, based on the last three drops we tracked (roughly every 13 days).
OLED 1TB Refurbished: likely between October 10, 2026 and November 16, 2026, based on the last three drops we tracked (roughly every 23 days).
Valve announces nothing in advance. Treat this as a pattern, not a promise.
Steam Deck Restock by Region
Valve operates separate stores for North America (US and Canada share the same inventory), EU (including Germany), and UK. Stock levels are independent across these regions, which means a model can be available in North America but sold out in Europe.
We have not seen a reliable ordering between regions; a refurbished batch can show up in one store and skip another entirely. DeckScan monitors all regions simultaneously, so alerts fire for your store, not someone else's.

Frequently Asked Questions
When will the Steam Deck restock?
Right now you rarely have to wait: both new OLED models have been continuously available on the Valve store since late May 2026. Refurbished units are the exception. They appear in batches roughly every three weeks and sell out fast. DeckScan tracks availability in real time so you never miss a drop.
How often does Valve restock the Steam Deck?
There is no official schedule. Since the May 2026 price change, new OLED models have mostly stayed in stock, so classic restock waves matter less. Refurbished OLED units have been dropping roughly every three weeks, and refurbished LCD units appear only sporadically.
How do I get notified when Steam Deck is back in stock?
DeckScan monitors the Valve store across all regions and sends alerts the moment stock appears. You can also join our Discord community for instant notifications with zero setup.
Is the refurbished Steam Deck worth buying?
Yes. Valve refurbished units go through full testing and come with the same warranty as new models. They cost significantly less than new OLED units and are a great way to get a Steam Deck at a lower price.
Where can I find Steam Deck deals on eBay?
DeckScan scans eBay listings across multiple regions and rates each deal against recent market prices for the same model and condition. Visit our deals page to see the best current listings with automatic ratings.
